The Partner Projects charity was founded in October 2019 by 11 members and is registered as a non-profit organisation in the Register of Associations of the Munich Local Court.

Its focus is the promotion of development cooperation and welfare.

The idea of partner projects originally arose from a criticism concerning sustainability certification systems and therefore is a counter-model to those.

The background to this discussion and the practical-philosophical derivation of the concept of partner projects are presented in a paper („Sustainable building requires global cooperation“DETAILgreen 02/17, pp. 14). and under the full text of the same name.
