Since November 2020, a civil war has been taking place in the Tigray region, located in the north of Ethiopia, with the civilian population suffering the most. Massacres, displacements and refugee movements have taken place and are likely to continue. Even before that, the supply situation was already very tense due to plagues of locusts and corona.
The partner project for the Nicolas Robinson School, which has now been completed, was planned and launched before the civil war and was intended to supplement the public power supply in view of the frequent power outages. However, it has now been designed as a solar power island system and now serves as the sole power supply for the school.
In the meantime, Rainbows4children has also started to distribute aid in the form of food, blankets and hygiene items to refugees and needy families in Mekele. Partnerprojects e.V. would like to support this emergency relief effort by hereby appealing for donations to the following location:
